Infrared Saunas Can Give You Business Income

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

The advent of an infrared technology has increased the scope of an extremely popular business - the spa. A spa is one of the most well-liked destinations for many of the health-conscious and fashion-conscious people. Actually, infrared saunas are growing popular with people staying in urban places. An infrared sauna retains all the benefits provided by traditional saunas and also provides additional benefits in spite of its smaller form. Far-infrared radiant heat is an absolutely risk-free form of naturally occurring energy that heats objects by a process called direct light conversion. Radiant heat is also called infrared heat or infrared energy. Conversion of direct light does not raise the temperature of the surrounding free air but heatens up only the object.

Going to a spa, resort, health clubs or sauna is always comforting, but sometimes (or all of the time) it’s not so fun to be unaccompanied. Traditional Finnish saunas allow more than one person, and finally infrared saunas can fit more than one person to relax and enjoy themselves. With an infrared sauna, you and a family member, partner, or friend can calm and relax together.

The infrared sauna is a device used to increase weight loss and detoxify the body. At the heart of the saunas functionality is sweat. The infrared sauna heats up to temperatures of 125 degrees. Unlike the steam saunas that raise the temperature higher than 160 degrees, the infrared sauna aims to provide warmth without the chance of overheating.

The infrared sauna spa clubs are comprised of four walls and a roof. There are benches located inside, where users can sit and relax in the heat of the sauna. According to manufacturers, the infrared rays reach as far as two inches into the body producing more sweat and thus increasing the detoxification ability of the sauna.

Health club members are seen to get inclined to become fans of the clubs if the club tends to have a sauna. They experience the great comfort of using saunas by going and spending some time in spas, gyms or health clubs. So if you own a health club then here is an idea for you: add a sauna. If it is high-class or formal clubs then add both of multi-person and single-person saunas and for a more informal ambiance add more of multi-person saunas. Segregate the men’s and ladies saunas for better business traction and client impressions if you sense that separating would make your customers more satisfied. Alternatively, you may offer shared sessions in which both gentlemen and ladies would share saunas and also offer reserved hours for gentlemen and ladies separately.

In a nutshell, using a sauna would generate a good amount of business for you in the longer run if you do it methodically. See, most people would spend much more in a health club than what they would spend if they had purchased the same equipments at home. As a business owner, you probably already know that. Simply re-use this common psychology - setup an infrared sauna in your club or organization and it is going to reap golden benefits for you.

Tanning Beds – A solution for safe Tanning

    Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Tanning is the act of using a sunbed or sunbooth to imitate the UVA and UVB rays given off by the sun for the purpose of achieving a darker pigmentation of one’s skin.
    What are sun beds?
Tanning beds are machines in a bed that transmit ultraviolet radiation. Its components are: UVB, UVA and UVC. There are thousands of brands and types of beds available to own in one’s home or for purchase by a salon owner. The most common types are:

Lay-down or bed: In which a client is horizontal within the bed with a top that closes over them
Stand-up or booth: In which a client stands the whole time within a booth of tanning lights.
There are many types of brands for both beds and booths. Some of the most widely used brands today are the S-Class Bed, I-Bed, Cyclone Booth, Matrix Bed, Ergoline Bed, and Suncapsle Booth.

    Differences between tanning beds:
Each type of tanning bed is different than the next. Each one emits a different combination of UVA and UVB rays, resulting in a stronger or weaker bed. Also, the equipment and form of each bed is different. Some are hotter than others, some include air conditioning, music players, mist, aromatherapy, pillows, or facial lamps.

    Benefits of tanning beds
The sun beds provide a steady and lasting tan. Do not rely on the sun can be used in any climate.
UVA and UVB are both forms of radiation and thus are considered to be dangerous. For many years, sunscreen only blocked UVB rays because UVA rays were considered to be the “healthy” ray that didn’t cause skin damage and gave a better tan. However, UVA rays penetrate into the dermis, causing mutations below the surface. The radition causes mutations in the DNA in an estimated 20 seconds of exposure to a tanning light. The act of mutating is not in itself the danger, but every time a cell mutates it risks mutating into a defective cell, or cancer. There are no certainties with tanning, only the understanding that the more one tans, the more their cells mutate, and the more the cells mutate, the higher the chance that one mutation will result in a defective or cancerous cell.

Both rays UVA and UVB carry risks: UVB – the surface ray, may burn or damage the appearance of the skin. UVA – the penetrating ray, may cause a cancerous mutation.

2010 Lexus ES 350 – Road Test Review

    Friday, February 26th, 2010

The entry-luxury Lexus ES 350 is a comfortable, compliant sedan that boasts the right amount of luxury, performance, safety and size without being either garish or boring—and without breaking the bank.

For 2010, the ES 350 gets a fresh face: new headlamps, grille, grille surround and front bumper with integrated fog lamps flanking a revised lower intake, plus redesigned tail lamps, chrome body side moldings, and new turn signals integrated into the outside mirrors. Also a slew of new features, including Lexus Enform and Safety Connect, a new security and convenience telematics suite similar to GM’s ubiquitous OnStar system.

The only available powertrain is Lexus’ 272-hp, DOHC, 24-valve 3.5-liter aluminum V6, with efficiency enhancing Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), coupled to a 6-speed Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). This super-smooth automatic provides fast kick-down response and sequential manual shifting for those of us who sometimes care to manage our own shift timing.

As expected in a midsize luxo-sedan, the interior is rich and feature-filled, with average space for the class: plenty of room up front for the driver and primary passenger and reasonable real estate for two, or even three, adults in back. Also as expected is Lexus-level craftsmanship, enhanced for 2010 with standard leather-trimmed seating, bright Optitron gauges, polished metal, premium wood and leather accents. The three-spoke wood and leather steering wheel with handy audio, trip computer and information display controls is especially nice, as is the (available) large, easy to use color navigation touch screen.

Also standard are SmartAccess keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power moonroof, 10-way power front seats (with driver-seat memory), power tilt/telescope steering wheel adjustment, rain-sensing wipers, heated outside mirrors, an illuminated entry system with exterior and interior puddle lamps and even illuminated front cup holders. The standard audio system has a six-disc CD changer, automatic sound leveling, an integrated satellite radio receiver (with a complimentary 90-day trial subscription) plus iPod/USB connectivity (in the console), Bluetooth hands-free phone capability and music streaming.

The available Ultra-Luxury Package includes a panorama glass roof, perforated “semi-aniline” leather seating, a power rear sunshade, front passenger seat memory, HID Active Front Lighting (AFS) that follows the steering, that beautiful wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, and exclusive “liquid graphite-finish” alloy wheels. The long list of stand-alone options includes the HID AFS, heated and ventilated front seats and Intuitive Park Assist (IPA) that uses ultrasonic sensors to detect objects close to either bumper. It alerts the driver and shows distances to objects in the multi-information display.

The optional touch-screen nav system uses “Voice Command” casual-language voice recognition, which comprehends conversational commands for control of audio, climate, and navigation. It also comes with a rear back-up camera, integrates control of personalized settings and has Bluetooth phonebook download. An optional 10-channel, 300-watt, 14-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound audio system is available with navigation, and DVD movies can be viewed on the nav screen when the car is in park and the parking brake is engaged.

Also new are available-by-subscription Lexus Enform and Safety Connect. Safety Connect, available on any ES 350 with or without navigation, offers four safety and security features: Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Location, Emergency Assistance (SOS) and Enhanced Roadside Assistance, which adds GPS data to Lexus’ roadside service. Lexus Enform, available on nav-equipped vehicles, adds Destination Assist and eDestination.

Destination Assist agents, available 24/7 via on-board cellular equipment, can help find an address, a specific business or type of business (gas station, theater, restaurant) and send coordinates to the nav system for routing. With eDestination, you can save and sort destinations online and send them to your car for download. Lexus Enform also offers subscriptions to XM NavTraffic, XM NavWeather and XM Sports and Stocks.

Standard Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with traction control integrates Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA). A new VSC cut-off switch is handy if you’re trying to rock the car out of deep snow, mud or sand.

The 10-airbag Supplemental Restraint System includes advanced front and front seat-mounted side bags, rear seat-mounted side bags, full-length side-curtain bags and driver and front passenger knee bags. An optional Pre-Collision System (PCS) includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which maintains a pre-set distance from vehicles ahead. If the PCS senses an impending collision, it pre-initializes Brake Assist, tightens the front seat belts, and Active Braking will automatically apply the brakes (up to 0.3 g) if the driver fails to react.
